Dementia Awareness Session

We want to ensure our Cathedral is welcoming and friendly to everyone. To this end, we have arranged a Dementia Awareness session, facilitated by a Dementia Advisor. Whilst we are encouraging our Cathedral volunteers to come along to this session, it is open to anyone who would like to learn more about the issues experienced by people living with dementia.

The session will be held in the Cathedral Cafe on Wednesday 19th June at 7pm. A maximum of 20 people can attend the session, which will last approx. 90 minutes, followed by questions and answers.      At the end of the session, participants will receive a certificate and a badge and all Alzheimer Scotland ask is that you use what you have learned to help those who need it.

If you are interested in attending, please contact the Parish Office at cathedralhouse@stmaryscathedral.co.uk to book a place.

Cathedral Welcomers Meeting

After the great success of our Welcoming Initiative during the Festival last year, we need new “welcomers” and we will collect names before and after Sunday Masses in July. If you think you could possibly help, please give your name, or speak to one of the priests, or contact the parish office. In addition, there will be a short meeting for all those involved on Saturday 28th July at 12noon. This was a great undertaking last year – please do help again this year if you can.
