Data Policy

You can sign up to the St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral e-newsletter in the footer of the website. This opt-in form on the website is the only way we collect data for our e-newsletter mailing list.

The personal data you enter - your name and email address - is the minimum amount we need and use to keep in touch with you and it is used solely by the Cathedral to send e-newsletters. It is stored in a password protected database and is not shared with other organisations.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral is the data controller and MailChimp, whose service the Cathedral uses to send e-newsletters, is the data processor.

The Cathedral has signed a data protection agreement with MailChimp to ensure that any data transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) will be made in accordance with applicable law to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is required from 25 May 2018.

Please contact the Cathedral Office if you have any questions or if you wish to be taken off the e-newsletter list after you have subscribed. You can also unsubscribe from the list by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each e-newsletter you receive.
