Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral: Melanie McDonagh

We are delighted that the author and journalist Melanie McDonagh has agreed to be Friends of St Mary’s Cathedral's first speaker this year.

Book cover: Converts: From Oscar Wilde to Muriel Spark, Why So Many Became Catholic in the 20th Century

Melanie was our first guest speaker in 2022 while she was researching her book, Converts: From Oscar Wilde to Muriel Spark, Why So Many Became Catholic in the 20th Century

We are looking forward to finding out more about her research and the paths iconic cultural figures such as Oscar Wilde, Muriel Spark, Evelyn Waugh and Graham Greene took to convert to Catholicism. The boo is available in St Paul's Bookshop.
